Solomon Islands - Malaita

Rural Infrastructure Project Vehicles and Technical Equipment
The purpose of the project is to assist in the improvement and development of road and infrastructure construction and rehabilitation by use of locally available resources, recycling of existing materials and improvement of new strategies and research in the use of naturally available materials.
The equipment will be used on the main islands, but will also be transferred to sub-sites upon demand. Therefore a high mobility concerning weight and volume with regard to the available transport sources must be guaranteed.

Realisation

The contract was awarded to Boss Pro-Tec GmbH in November 2001, the commissioning and training was carried out between May to July 2002. The transport by sea and the distribution to the end destinations took approximately 10 weeks.
Our local partner performed the commissioning, putting into operation and the training of the drivers and the technical personnel in his workshops. The first year service and maintenance including spare parts were part of the contract and executed by our agent.
